Following my South Island tour, I’ll be heading up to Auckland for the NZ World Elite Training Camp on 12–13 July for coaching and workshops, before returning to Gisborne.
Coaching Options

1-on-1 Coaching $70 per paddler per hour 2 persons OC1 or V1 or OC2
1-on-1 Coaching $60 per paddler per hour 3 persons OC1 or V1 or OC2

Each coaching session is for 50min and is catered specific to the needs of the individual or team.
Workshop Options
I offer a wide variety of workshops from sprints, endurance, coach the coaches, V1/OC1, as well as 1/2 day options, women only workshops, and have the flexibility to cater workshops specific to your clubs needs. All workshops are designed for all levels and ages. I have listed what I do offer along with description, costings and min/max paddlers per workshop. I can also offer discounts for those doing 2 or more workshops at one club.
Coaching Mastery Workshop
Join our 3-hour classroom-based workshop designed to equip coaches with the tools they need to empower their athletes. Focusing on strength-based and goal-driven approaches, this workshop supports the long-term development and sustainability of paddlers from juniors to seniors, across all skill levels—from beginners and novices to competitive athletes. The workshop features 12 modules that build coaching capabilities, covering areas such as technique, understanding body biomechanics, communication, blending techniques, post-training/racing debriefing, high performance, campaign succession planning, training programs, drills, race strategies, team performance, and much more. Learn from an 8-time world champion paddler, athlete, and International Paddling Coach.

WakaFit OC6 STEERING Workshop
This workshop has become incredibly popular among both experienced steerers and those new to steering, who are learning the ropes and aiming to enhance their skills. It focuses in detail on steering OC6 and W6 canoes, covering essential techniques and offering valuable tips for effective team steering in both flat water and ocean conditions. Participants will learn to navigate various environments, such as rivers and oceans, and prepare for different types of races, including endurance and sprint. Participants will engage in practical drills to practice and perfect their steering skills in real-world conditions. This workshop is ideal for beginners, those currently learning to steer, coaches looking to improve their teaching abilities, and advanced steerers aiming to refine their skills for competitive racing. Whether you're navigating a river, tackling ocean waves, or preparing for races, you'll gain invaluable knowledge and experience.

WakaFit OC6 FUNCTIONAL workshop
This 2-hour workshop is designed specifically for paddlers and clubs to grasp the functional movements of outrigger paddling. Participants will learn essential skills and tools to engage the right muscles, ensuring the most effective power output. Suitable for all levels—beginners, novices, and advanced paddlers—we'll revisit the basics and focus on fundamental paddling techniques. This approach helps paddlers improve their technique, ensuring they paddle in the smartest and most effective way to minimize injury. The workshop also enhances sustainability and power, ultimately improving speed and overall enjoyment of the sport. Both paddlers and clubs have found this workshop invaluable for understanding the core movements and achieving better performance.

WakaFit ½ DAY WOMEN'S workshop (3 1/2 hours)
The WakaFit OC6 Half-Day Workshop is specially designed for women, focusing on outrigger paddling while building confidence and camaraderie. Led by International Paddling Coach Vesna Radonich, this workshop helps women develop advanced paddling techniques, tips, and drills to excel in a supportive, all-women environment. This 3 1/2 hour workshop has 3 blocks of work and includes 15min breaks between each block
1st Hour: Focus on engaging the right muscles for maximum power and efficiency. Women will learn the essentials of paddling, understand their body mechanics, and discover techniques that leverage their unique muscle groups, allowing for effective power generation. Additionally, we'll cover how women can use their core strength and endurance to enhance their paddling experience.
2nd Hour: Explore ocean paddling skills, with a special emphasis on how women's natural multitasking abilities can enhance their performance. Learn to read water conditions, understand currents, and navigate waves while simultaneously coordinating with teammates and adjusting to the environment. This session builds confidence, teamwork, ensuring women support each other while mastering the ocean.
3rd Hour: Sprint-specific training includes mastering strokes and drills for competitive sprint racing. Women will learn to plan and execute race strategies for 500m races, capitalizing on their ability to focus under pressure. The session will highlight how women's strength and resilience can be harnessed to deliver powerful, precise strokes and maintain high performance under demanding conditions. This fosters a sense of independence, competitive spirit, and mutual support.

WakaFit OC6 OCEAN Workshop (2 hours)
This 2-hour workshop is focused on ocean paddling, open to all skill levels from beginners to experienced paddlers. You'll learn drills, techniques, and tips for smarter ocean paddling. Skills covered include feeling the water, reading conditions, and understanding currents, tides, swells, and wind. Safety is key, so you'll also learn essential safety protocols. All participants must be competent swimmers and have life jackets, bailers, and spare paddles. This workshop enhances ocean paddling skills, safety awareness, and confidence in navigating challenging water conditions.

WakaFit OC6 SPRINT Workshop (2 hours)
This Sprint workshop offers a hands-on, 2-hour session focused on sprint paddling, suitable for all skill levels. You'll break down stroke mechanics, apply race strategies, analyze team stroke dynamics, and learn the specific roles of each seat to work seamlessly as a team. Additionally, you'll master transitioning between strokes and executing a strong finish. Further sprint skills covered include refining paddle entry and exit techniques, improving stroke rate and consistency, enhancing your sprint starts, and developing effective breathing patterns. The workshop is led by experienced members who have been part of the World and NZ Premier Sprint Champion team, KAIARAHI TOA, for 12 years. Attending the FUNCTIONAL workshop beforehand is highly recommended, as the learnings there will help you get even more out of this session.

WakaFit OC1/OC2 or V1 FUNCTIONAL Workshop (2 hours)
The WakaFit OC1/OC2 or V1 FUNCTIONAL workshop is 2 hours and for paddlers to understand the functional movements of paddling, learn the skills, tools to enable the right muscles to be used in paddling to generate the most effective power output specific to single craft or OC2. We teach tips and techniques that will enable you to paddle smarter, straighter with more confidence and power in your stroke, along with rigging tips. The workshop is open to all paddlers, all levels wanting to learn to be faster and smarter on and off the water. This will also ensure that our paddlers are paddling the smartest and effective way to minimise injury, increase power and enjoyment of paddling.

WakaFit W6 High Performance Workshop (2 hours)
Elevate Your Race Performance Take your outrigger paddling to the next level with our W6 High Performance Workshop, tailored for paddlers and teams aiming to excel in competition. This 2-hour on-water session sharpens technique, boosts power output, and prepares you to achieve peak race performance. You will focus on advanced functional movements, fine-tuning the use of key muscle groups to generate maximum efficiency and power. Through race-specific drills and on-water strategies, participants will gain the tools to paddle smarter, increase speed, and optimize teamwork in the W6 setting. Our high-performance techniques are designed to give you the competitive edge needed to aim for the podium and achieve your racing goals. WakaFit V1 Sprint Workshop
This 2-hour workshop is designed for V1 paddlers wanting to prepare for sprints. We focus on refining technique, speed, and control. Come earn strokes specific to sprint racing, how to steer your canoe smarter, and hold a straight line while maintaining power and efficiency. Work through targeted drills to improve reaction time, adaptability, and smarter paddling choices under pressure. Master transitions between strokes to maintain momentum and optimize sprint performance.
