We are filled with gratitude to have 7 waka occupying our space, it is a joyful sight. Although they don't all belong to us, they feel like whanau.
I am reminded of the many Maori traditions that recount the story of the seven waka that arrived to Aotearoa and were called Tainui, Te Arawa, Mātaatua, Kurahaupō, Tokomaru, Aotea and Tākitimu. These waka brought migrants, explorers and supplies. Courtesy of Wikipedia
